Fishing accommodation

The Fishing Accommodation label of the French Fishing Federation (FFP) is designed to promote and enhance the value of accommodation and services associated with fishing in France. Its aim is to guarantee a pleasant stay for anglers, while complying with environmental and quality standards. Some of our accommodations have this label, others don’t, but that doesn’t prevent them from fulfilling their role perfectly as accommodation for a fishing holiday.

The different types of fishing lodges

There are several types of accommodation suited to fishing enthusiasts, each offering specific services and facilities to make your stay pleasant and practical: bed and breakfasts, self-catering cottages, hotels, holiday villages, campsites, tourist residences or self-catering villages.

Gîtes by the river

Our rental properties, like the one nestling on the banks of the Dordogne, combine the charm of ancestral stone with refined modern comforts. Enthusiasts of sport fishing will be delighted by these havens of peace, particularly in the verdant settings of the Dordogne, Lot and Célé valleys , but also in the Ardèche, Gard, Lot-et-Garonne and other destinations in France.

Gîtes with private pond

Imagine your own personal paradise, where time passes to the rhythm of the rippling water. Our self-catering cottages with private fishing ponds invite you to enjoy an exclusive experience, where fishing becomes a pleasure accessible at all times. Some estates extend over several hectares, offering you a realm of tranquillity where nature and privacy reign supreme. Several of our residences offer fishing in private ponds.

Lakeside gîtes

Let yourself be seduced by the magic of wide open spaces, such as the shores of Lac de Vassivière in Creuse, Lac de la Souphallie in Lot-et-Garonne, Lac de Pareloup in Aveyron, or Lac d’Issarlès in Ardèche. These natural settings offer the perfect combination of fishing and family fun. We’ve thought of your comfort: each fishing spot is less than 10 kilometres or 15 minutes from your cosy nest. Seaside rentals :The coasts of the English Channel, the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean coast are ideal for seaside fishing, fishing from a boat, fishing from a sea kayak or float-tube, and fishing on foot during high tides. We have several seaside holiday rentals.

Choosing your fishing gîte:

To guide your choice, our fishing accommodation proudly bears its classification: GP1 for whitewater rich in salmonids, GP2 for other aquatic wonders. This distinction allows you to choose the perfect setting for your preferred style of fishing.

Recreational fishing in France

Here are some of the types of recreational fishing available in France: Fly fishing: Used mainly to catch freshwater fish such as trout and salmon. This technique requires a special fishing rod and lures that imitate insects. Strike fishing: This is a static fishing technique using a rod without a reel, often practised in ponds, rivers or canals. Lure fishing: Practised both in freshwater and at sea, this technique uses artificial lures to attract carnivorous fish such as pike, perch and sea bass. Surfcasting: Carried out from the shore, this technique involves casting your bait as far as possible into the waves to catch fish such as bass, bream or skate. Carp fishing: Particularly popular in Europe, this technique is practised mainly in lakes and rivers. Anglers use special baits and often rod pods to hold the rods in place. Feeder fishing: A method that uses a feeder (small container attached to the line) filled with bait to attract fish. Often used to catch bottom fish such as bream and carp. Foot fishing: An activity that involves collecting shellfish, crustaceans and other small marine animals at low tide, often practised on beaches and coasts. Float-tube fishing: Used mainly in freshwater, this technique involves sitting in a small inflatable boat and fishing while moving slowly through the water. Each technique offers a unique experience and can be adapted to suit personal preferences and the species of fish targeted.
