The Dordogne, the Périgord Noir, Sarlat, ... so many names that evoke the most beautiful sites and villages in France, conviviality and happiness, holidays!

But deciding where to spend your vacation in the Dordogne is never easy, given the sheer number of choices. The most important thing for us is that you leave La Truffière feeling like you made the right choice.

So to help you, we're going to try to tell you about La Truffière, through these few lines, while being as objective as possible. To do this, what better way than to rely on the opinions of vacationers who have already stayed in our holiday village !

Holiday rentals in Périgord:

Peace and quiet to relax, an authentic place to disconnect , large spaces to take a breaka breath of fresh air, in short nothing extravagant but nature, nature and more nature.

This is La Truffière, nestled on a small wooded hill in a natural, forested environment in the heart of the Périgord Noir . Far from any light pollution, you can contemplate the fabulous starry summer skies or admire the sublime sunsets over the valley.

Our small, human-sized village, made up of 12 air-conditioned gîtes and chalets, enjoys an ideal location. From La Truffière, you can set off on hikes along the many surrounding trails, take long family bike rides on the greenway , or enjoy the wild spaces along the Dordogne River and perhaps catch some gudgeon !

A holiday to relax but also to have fun:

La Truffière? " A paradise for children "! We hear this phrase very often from parents and children alike. So much so that when you ask them the famous question "what did you like best about your vacation?" you probably know the answer!

Well yes: "the swimming pool heated to 28° without chlorine which does not sting the eyes " and "the large play area" free of charge : bouncy castle , slackline, table football, archery , table hockey, ping-pong, trampolines, spring horses.... The list is long!

Also on site, without any obligation, but to bring the conviviality which contributes to the magic of the holidays and which we appreciate so much, we will offer you activities and entertainment throughout the weeksuitable for all ages.

Starting Sunday evening, we will tantalize your taste buds with a tasting of regional products : The welcome drink! Nothing more traditional, we agree! But we can assure you that it is a very popular moment, we chat over a drink with vacationers who, like you, are discovering La Truffière for the first time or those we affectionately call "our repeaters" and who will be happy to advise you on the good deals in the region. As for the children, guess where they are? Well yes, they have already taken over the coveted playground and are already making their first little friends of the holidays!

Many people tell us that we put our hearts into our work, that we are very available without being intrusive, and we are flattered by that. What we want above all is for everyone to feel at home but on vacation !

Pilates session, children's/teenagers' workshop, visits to local producers, hikes accompanied by Hubert, pétanque competition, Périgord meal with the famous spit-roasted pig , evening swimming pool... entertainment for everyone and all this in the greatest simplicity and good humor!

What to do in Dordogne?

"There is so much to do, to see!", "We won't have time to do and see everything", "We will have to come back" . These few words sum up the situation quite well!

For those who already know or those who have planned to come and have already done their research, after having chosen their gîte, you will still have to choose, because there too the choice is very vast!

Land of 1001 castles, Dordogne Land of history... from prehistory to today... There is something for everyone! Follow in the footsteps of Cro-Magnon man near the Vézère, let yourself be transported into medieval life at the Château de Castelnaud or discover the destiny of an exceptional woman, Joséphine Baker at the Château des Milandes. Film buffs will not be left out with the Château de Beynac and its famous " Visitors ", Le Paluel Château where the film "The Tattooed Man " was filmed or the superb Château de Fénelon where Ridley Scott very recently set up his cameras for " The Last Duel ".

We are well aware that visits represent a significant budget!

And that is why we can only recommend the free mobile application "Terra aventura" designed by the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region . With this app you can visit some of the most beautiful villages in France in a treasure hunt style. We can assure you, children love going in search of the little Poi'z, and parents say when they return "we didn't even hear them complaining!"

Whatever you want to do, we will be there to advise you, give you our little favorites and our good tips .

Village de Gîtes - France :

Once again, it's the bucolic side and rural which appeals to groups who have already stayed at La Truffière, the guinguette spirit, certainly, a little accentuated by Hubert, who, beret firmly fixed on his head, will take out his accordion and play you some well-known refrains... if you feel like it, of course!

Family gatherings, birthdays, weddings, with family or friends, groups of hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists... the privatization of our estate will bring you all the comfort of individual accommodation (60 beds in 12 gîtes), but also the possibility of meeting all together in a large reception room of 96m2.

We can't say it enough, but the most important thing for us is that you leave feeling delighted and that you, in turn, want to tell us about your weekend!
