The history of our gîte village: Our estate was built in the 90s and operated for 30 years until the owners retired. We took over in April 2022, with the aim of revitalising and rejuvenating the structure. We decided to make a clean break by renaming the estate “Au creux des arbres”, and undertook a major renovation of the gîtes and communal areas, as well as adding new accommodation. We’re delighted with the results of our efforts and the momentum we’ve created, with customers who always leave delighted.

We love taking the time to share our favourites of the region with our guests, giving them advice and listening to them share their discoveries with us. Hubert takes great pleasure in organising little activities for the children, taking guests for walks and finishing off with a jeep tour of the estate, not forgetting singing at evening concerts! As for Aude, she loves making groups of hikers taste her walnut cake and cook the famous Flemish carbonnade!
A few years ago, we went on holiday to a gîte village in the Lot et Garonne, and it was then that we discovered the concept and fell under the spell of these authentic holidays. It was also the starting point for our conversion project, after lengthy discussions with the owners of the estate, who wanted to give up their place…
We haven’t had the chance to visit many of the gîte villages, but at our annual get-togethers, we feel that we’re all different, but with the same passion: to make sure you enjoy an authentic, friendly holiday!
The famous question that always makes us smile: “And what about… do you live here all year round? Don’t you get bored in winter? “Well, no, we enjoy the peace and quiet, and in the Dordogne, whatever the season, it’s always a good place to live, and on an estate like ours, there’s always something to do! The arrival each year of a very special holidaymaker, an experienced botanist who marvels at always finding new species on our estate, which he loves to share with us during educational walks. The idea was born of creating small information panels to share these wonderful finds… And finally… there’s always one enigma that persists and intrigues our holidaymakers in the hollow of the trees…a recurring little beep in the evening…and no, it’s not an alarm or a faulty battery in a detector, but the song of the Natterjack Toad, a protected species on our estate! It’s always a pleasure to go looking for them at nightfall…
