For your holiday in a cottage on a farm in Aveyron
If you like the simple things of the countryside, our chalets are made for you. We welcome you to our farm, with animals, space, fresh air and a calm that will surprise you. Here you will feel like a family. You will enjoy our quality facilities, our private fishing lake, but also the surrounding area: the valley of Marcillac and Conques, a medieval village classified as one of the "most beautiful villages in France", classified as a Unesco heritage site and soon to be classified as a "Grand Site de France". Not forgetting the gastronomy of Aveyron. Everything you need to spend a wonderful holiday in peace and quiet, enjoying the authenticity of Aveyron, the land of wide open spaces.
Our tourist structure
In our farm, no less than four hectares have been fitted out for tourist activity, in order to receive holidaymakers in maximum comfort. As we were not short of space, we spaced out the cottages so that each family could keep its privacy.
We have transformed an old farm building into a meeting room where you can come and go as you please to enjoy our facilities:Billiards
Table football
Toy library and library
Sports hallThis building is also booked by groups or families who come to celebrate an event, as it has a fitted kitchen. It's great for cousinly parties! There is even an overhead projector and a bluetooth speaker...
We also have a meeting room that can accommodate a company for a small seminar. Our outdoor areas
Everyone will find their favourite spot in the open air, on the grass or by the water.
- the heated swimming pool from May to September
- the private lake of 1 hectare, with a fishing pontoon. Boats and pedal boats are available. Life jackets are even provided.
- for children: playgrounds, trampoline, pedal go-karts
- a small football field,
- petanque courts
- a basketball hoop
So there is plenty to keep you busy on site. There are also the animals of the farm: sheep, heifers, donkeys, dwarf rabbits and pigs and also our dogs and cats.
The children love to follow Jean-Marc to the sheepfold to suckle a lamb and to go on a golfette or quad bike to see the donkeys.Different accommodation: for all tastes and budgets
You have a choice of accommodation of different sizes and comforts. Although all our chalets have two bedrooms, their kitchens are not all equipped in the same way.
Our eight Mansois chalets are bioclimatic constructions on stilts and have large covered terraces overlooking the meadow. The view is pleasant and outdoor meals are very pleasant on sunny days. The kitchen is equipped to make you feel at home: oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, ceramic hob. The internet connection is via cable.
One of our Mansois cottages is accessible to disabled persons (PMR)
Our three Ontario cottages are located in an undergrowth of large oak trees. Their terrace is covered and shaded. Their particularity: each of the two bedrooms has its own shower room. An undisputed asset for couples of friends who want to enjoy hotel-like comfort. The kitchen is also fully equipped, as in the Mansois chalets.
Our three Montana chalets are situated below, under hundred-year-old chestnut trees, in a very quiet location. From the terrace you can watch our small herd of Ouessant sheep and goats, or the deer that come out of the woods. They are equipped with a kitchenette with two hotplates, a microwave and a fridge/freezer. Fishermen will appreciate the cupboard for storing fishing rods. The 4-star gîte du coq with an industrial decor
For those who are looking for a larger accommodation and want a decor that combines raw iron and wood, we have set up this gîte in an old farm building.
It is composed of a single closed bedroom with a 160cm bed and the rest of the sleeping arrangements are on the mezzanine: BZ and a small bed on top. In winter, the pellet stove hums near the benches and armchairs. This is a characterful accommodation where you will find roosters and hens in every room. A private terrace with garden furniture and a large parasol allows you to enjoy our fresh air.Close to home
The Aveyron is a large green area with contrasting landscapes, particularly popular with hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, canoeists, rafters and climbers. Our territory of the Marcillac valley is full of hiking trails, but also of beautiful villages to visit. Conques, 8 kms away, is the pride of our region, as well as the Marcillac A.O.P. vineyard. But there are also Belcastel, Estaing, Salles la Source, Bozouls and its canyon, the Lot valley. A visit to Laguiole and the Aubrac plateaux is also a must. Aveyron is famous for Roquefort cheese, the Laguiole knife and the Millau viaduct, but there are so many other beautiful things to discover! Breathtaking landscapes, red stones (pink sandstone) in the valley, white stones (limestone) on the causse, grey stones (schist) on the edge of the Cantal: all this variety within a radius of 10 km from the gîte.
We are passionate about our territory and we are keen to share it with you. Moreover, a weekly excursion is organised in July and August.
In our charming little village of Saint-Cyprien, there is an electric bike rental company. There are also all kinds of shops, as well as craftsmen. One of them is known for his invention: luminography. A must-see! Art is very present in our valley, from Marcillac to Conques: potters, painters, cutlers, weavers, leatherworkers, etc. all await you for a visit to their workshops.Aveyron's gastronomy
You will not leave our region without having been able to appreciate our many specialities:
- Aligot and truffade
- Farçous
- The estofinade
- The Fouace, the sun, the scalds…
- The many delicatessens
- Local cheeses: pérails, bleus, Roquefort, Laguiole
In our village of gîtes, we organise a friendly weekly meal in the summer during which you can taste some of these specialities. This rural meal is a great moment of sharing, just like the welcome drink at the beginning of your stay. You will get to know other holidaymakers, while your children will go and play with their new friends. These are moments of conviviality that no one forgets and that contribute to the success of your holiday. That's the atmosphere of a gîte village!
